Tag man_made=kiln is used for mapping a kiln - a thermally insulated chamber in which temperature is controlled to change the state of the item placed inside, usually through the process of burning, baking, drying, or smelting.
Kilns are used to turn objects made from clay into pottery, tiles, and bricks, and to turn wood into charcoal. Various industries use rotary kilns to calcinate limestone to lime for cement and to transform many other materials.
How to map
Set a node or draw as an area along outline and add man_made=kiln
The product produced in the kiln can be described with product=*:
If the kiln is large it may have man_made=chimney features, and it may be within a man_made=works (factory) and landuse=industrial area.

Bottle kilns
Bottle kilns (also known as bottle ovens) were widely used in the pottery industry and some still survive (notably in Stoke-on-Trent), though they are no longer used in the UK, where they are listed historical buildings. They should be drawn as an area along the outline, and tagged:
- building=industrial
- kiln=bottle_kiln
- disused:man_made=kiln
- former_product=pottery
- historic=kiln
- disused=yes
Bottle kilns in the UK are likely to be listed buildings, in which case the following tags should be added:
- heritage=2
- heritage_operator=he
- listed_status=Grade I, Grade II*, or Grade II
- ref:he=*

The way this tag is rendered is up to the implementation of each render, but it is suggested to use a black round drum with a flame in the centre of the drum. The SVG below is offered to the public domain for free usage by any renderer:
