QR-Codes
I found they are charging_station with QR code as stated in https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/infrastructures-de-recharge-pour-vehicules-electriques-irve-1/ what is the guideline ?
- If you can use the QR-Code to pay directly, without having to sign up, then that means that no authentication is required. Tag
authentication:none=yesand use appropriatepayment=*tag(s). --DaniloB (talk) 15:59, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
RFID vs NFC
In NZ all charge.net chargers accept an RFID tag. Is this the same as "nfc", or as "membership_card"? Or should a new "rfid" type be created?
Also it is possible to authenticate via a website, should "authentication:website" be added? This may apply to be above question about QR codes also.

- I have revised the page, to make the difference between authentication and payment more clear. The "nfc" and "membership_card" keys have been replaced with "contactless". --DaniloB (talk) 15:59, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
sub-keys
Suffixes could really be compared with payment:*=* , such as authentication:short_message=* vs payment:sms=*. -- Kovposch (talk) 05:24, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
How to add a store only accecible to those with an e-ID
(This is a continuation from Talk:Key:access#How to add a store only accecible to those with an e-ID)
Here in Sweden, there is a fairly large staff-less convenience store chain called 24 Sju (“24 Seven”). While basically anyone is allowed to enter the store, they must first unlock the door using their BankID app (which function as an eID). This is not really a restriction for Swedes, as 99.9% of all adult Swedes have the app, but it’s an impassable restriction for any non-Swede.
So how should I add this type of authentication, which is required to enter the store? From what I can see, none of the established keys fit with the current situation. While authentication=app seems plausible, it could be confused with some non-existing app specific to that chain. Should I create a new key, e.g. authentication=eID or authentication=BankID (Sweden), or is there a better method? –Christoffre (talk) 00:03, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- From what I understand,
authentication:app=yeswould be correct - but not very useful. You probably would want something likeauthentication:bankid_se=yes.
- The tricky part is how to resolve the collision between the Svedish BankID and the Norwegian BankID system. It's clear that the distinction should go into the key, but the language suffixes (:se, :no, ... like in
name=*) seem wrong - there are after all only two systems. So my guess would be, that it's best to add a _se suffix for the distinction from the Norvegian system. --Zschoche (talk) 10:19, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Car parks with automatic number plate recognition
I'm looking for a way to tag if car parks have automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) or not. On the talk page of surveillance=*, I was pointed to this key - and in fact authentication:number_plate=* would fit with authentication:disc=* and authentication:ticket=*, right?
authentication:number_plate=* would also work with the two use cases of ANPR, namely
