Unusual combinations

We've been investigating this issue in the United States, and we found quite a few examples of nonsensical combinations, like sidewalk=none + highway=path or sidewalk=none on things that weren't even roads. Also, we had a discussion and felt that sidewalk=no isn't needed on motorways (this is default) and have been removing them. I would recommend the mechanical edit only do the sensible combinations of sidewalk=no (highway=trunk through highway=residential and consider the unusual cases separately. --ZeLonewolf (talk) 16:03, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

Definitely! I am going to edit only on eligible highway values and investigate remaining ones manually - and do some spot checks on ones getting edited Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 18:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
