Vorschlag: gemeinsame Presets mit Josm usw.

Ich denke die Verwaltung der Presets sollte zusammengeführt werden wo sich alle Programme bedienen können.

(English: I think the presets should be used with Josm in one file Format and one place!)--Curmet 15:38, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Creating relations

I do not see an obvious way to create relations in Potlatch 2. Is there such a way presently? Thanks. --Ceyockey 15:23, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

  • Ah, I just found it . . . double clicking in the Relations panel of Advanced editing brings up the loaded Relations list with an option to create a new relation. This could be added to the documentation for clarity. --Ceyockey 15:24, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Live Edit

I think it is good that you've dropped the 'live edit' feature. This feature has presented some problems to me in the past related to clashing with myself and some poor management of cached changes which have not yet been saved. --Ceyockey 15:28, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Nice, But slow =/

Potlatch 2 looks really nice. But panning the map is painfully slow!

At first it seemed like it is quicker to draw paths/polygons, but after it got some nodes in it (A hundred or two maybe), it started to lag a sec at each new node.

If it were not for those issues, I would probably switch today!

I can add that I probably does not have the most powerful computer either, it is 3yrs old or so (or is it four?). It got 3GB of RAM, an Intel Core2 Duo CPU (T8100, two logical processing units) at 2.1 GHz. I use 64bit Ubuntu 10.04, and Flash 10.0 (I believe it is 32bit).

The reason to why I use the old flash version is because 2.1 Introduces a painful memory leak bug, and it is just worse in 2.2 ...

I hope you can turn this feedback into something good :)

"See more at WhereCamp EU..." but content is gone

This page links to https://www.socialtext.net/wherecamp/index.cgi?wherecamp_eu_session_potlatch_2_making_openstreetmap_easy_to_edit but there is no presentation to be watched there. The PDF slides that used to be at http://www.systemed.net/osm/wherecamp_potlatch.pdf are now a 404. The link to WhereCamp EU should therefore be removed or updated. --apapadop 10:58, 5 April 2011 (BST)

Tags not available

Many items, e.g., Tag:man_made=surveillance are not available in Potlatch 2. Say what to do in this case. Jidanni (talk) 03:18, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Use the "Advanced" mode. See Potlatch_2/Primer and Potlatch_2/Shortcuts. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 23:03, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
OK, but there should be 'additional tags' buttons in the editor that link there at the bottom of every list of items. Else one digs through the lists and thinks that that is all there is. Also e.g., the Help / Shortcuts could mention a link to Potlatch_2/Shortcuts... Jidanni (talk) 23:50, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
You are right, Jidanni - however, we have very limited manpower. See Potlatch_2#Feedback_and_bugs how to do bug reports and feature requests (long list already - maybe your suggestion is already there) and Potlatch_2#Get_involved.21 how to help with Potlatch2 development. I guess there will be very few development as possibly a successor (somehow) of Potlatch2 is soon ready for general use: iD. You can already test it (editing the real OSM data!) and give feedback. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 01:37, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Enhancements

I see nobody but myself has suggested any enhancements since 2014. Does that also mean that nobody is reading them ?

--Harg (talk) 09:59, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Just for reference: you mean those from you on the wiki page Potlatch 2/Suggested enhancements, right? --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 15:11, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

End of life for Potlatch 2?

Adobe Flash will be unsupported from December 31, 2020. On, or around this date, Flash support will be completely removed from Firefox, Chrome, and Edge (where it is already turned off by default). With the major browsers no longer supporting Flash after this date, and Potlatch currently relying on Flash, it seems like we should note this in the Wiki page?
