Type of gate?

This tag appears to be used for horizontal poles which bar a road, also known as a boom barrier?

Or do I misunderstand? I believe that most boom barriers are mapped as barrier=gate or barrier=lift_gate in OpenStreetMap, currently.

It could also be a log across the road, perhaps? This can be tagged as barrier=log. --Jeisenbe (talk) 20:44, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

That one on my photo is static, so not gate. A log, I would rather leave that for logs on the ground. Maybe it could be tagged: barrier=fence, fence_type=pole, but a bar looked shorter. - MojeKonto (talk) 16:38, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Broken image link

Please upload a photo to represent this feature, or link to a photo already on wikimedia commons, so that it can be displayed in the image box on the page. Currently there is a link to https://i.imgur.com/iwjr6UO.jpg%7Cframeless%7Ccenter%7C200px - but it is not clear if we have a license to use that photo. --Jeisenbe (talk) 20:46, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

The photo is made by me and I wanted to upload it here with the same license as map's edits, but the option for that was showing lack of permission, so I thought that upload is for advanced users when a tag's description will be accepted. So I uploaded to imgur as illustrative photo and linked to it. But now you mentioned commons, so if I get this right, a photo should be uploaded to wiki commons first and then it can be embed here by all users.
And I thought that it's better to check at first, what others think about this tag description. For example, if we stay with barrier=fence or something, then no need to embed a photo. - MojeKonto (talk) 16:38, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
