Tourist rental cabin

I'm wondering about how to tag something that is tagged as building=cabin to show that it is tourist rental cabin. I guess there's cabins=yes. But that doesn't seem correct for some reason. I'd like to avoid anything like an added rental (or whatever) tag though. I feel like there should be an amenity=cabin_rental tag or something. Maybe just cabins=rental, but again tagging "cabins" on a single cabin doesn't seem correct. Plus, the cabins article says it is confined to camp sites or similar things anyway. Not individual buildings. --Adamant1 (talk) 13:12, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Individual houses are implicitly covered by tourism=* areas. If anything, perhaps *=yes, or (I feel conflicted about this) building:use=*. -- Kovposch (talk) 16:30, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

patrol cabin

no obvious tagging for backcountry / wilderness ranger / patrol cabins, such as Thunder Lake patrol cabin, in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA. (This one even has Wikidata entry - with a couple of photos, is on National Register of Historic Places / NRHP)

Both wilderness_hut and alpine_hut are for tourism - as opposed to official use.

cabin=patrol?

building=cabin is a structure type, so cabin=* would be elaborating on its physical form. It can be used for anything.
I read that it still used for patrols? Unfortunately amenity=ranger_station is "approved". If it is amenity=ranger, I would suggest ranger=station and ranger=patrol_cabin in the format of amenity=security + security=* and emergency=lifeguard + lifeguard=*.
Still, are there any other ranger specific features? For those, you could suggest them to be grouped in ranger=* similar to police=*.
