The idea of creating this redirect is to give users "direct" access to the description (via this redirect) without need to search by keyword. Means they could either click in the ID editor or in taginfo to the value "seafood". I can't see how this may disturb anyone ? https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/cuisine=seafood#wiki

"in taginfo to the value "seafood"" - taginfo is not displaying descriptions from redirect - see https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/cuisine=seafood#overview "No English language description for this tag in the wiki.". And checking Wiki page about key is the obvious next step, redirect is not adding anything useful here. The same probably happens with iD Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 18:34, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
I see a shortcut as useful (from a user perspective : If I want to know something about the term "seafood" and may click to it which leads me to the repspective description, I don't need to understand the wiki structure - which isn't "obvious" to everyone). I assume it's by purpose that they mentioned "See also the Wiki tab", as there's really no (dedicated) "English language description for this tag", but there might be a link, anyway. In ID there's currently no link behind "seafood" and I got no clue if there's a "mimimum amount" of usage or whether someone needs to create it manually. At least without page, no link according to my experience. user:rtfm Rtfm (talk) 20:07, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

cuisine=fish is undesirable

cuisine=fish is undesirable. On the German side DE:Key:cuisine you can read: Fisch, bitte cuisine=seafood benutzen (siehe unten) (Fish, please use cuisine = seafood (see below)).

Likewise, we did not use shop=fish, but instead use shop=seafood.

There is also no difference in terms of content, so we should only use one. --geozeisig (talk) 07:54, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

cuisine=fish describes the difference and reason for avoiding shop=fish (fish as food and fish as food) do not apply Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 17:54, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
