How is "French 400kV tower hanging insulators" tagged?

I'm having trouble understanding which insulators in this image should be tagged:

French 400kV tower hanging insulators.jpg

All towers use insulators to attach the power lines to the tower, so I suppose that's not what is intended.

Is there a link to this object in the Openstreetmap database to show how it's tagged? --Jeisenbe (talk) 01:45, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

I've updated the picture with a red circle around to make it more clear.
The picture regards this node node 3711147660. Fanfouer (talk) 19:05, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
I'm still confused. node 3711147660 connects way 214450524 directly to way 367164969, Both ways are tagged as power=line voltage=400000 operator=RTE, but the node is tagged "connection=no". Each way is then attached to a tower: node 1936764840 and node 1936764843. From the towers there are 2 other lines that lead into a substation - way 199229562. So what is going on here? --Jeisenbe (talk) 22:12, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Hanging insulator is a split between two independant power circuits : relation 5459750 and relation 5459751. The substation normally connects them both and for unknown reasons, operator built that outside by-pass way 367164969. Since there are systems inside the substation which ensure safety, incoming independant circuits shouldn't be connected in operation : that's why there are those hanging insulators. The power has to pass by the substation and not overpass it, so they build kind of wall. Fanfouer (talk) 22:46, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
So are way 214450524 and way 367164969 actually power lines? Are they powering anything? --Jeisenbe (talk) 03:43, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
As you see on the picture, yes. These are identical lines as other sections and connected on each circuit, powered at 400 kV with no transit. Fanfouer (talk) 14:55, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Use on ways?

99.9% of current usage is on nodes: 22 ways vs 20,000 nodes. Should the recommendation to map as a way be removed, perhaps? It doesn't seem like mappers are actually doing this. Also, should it be clarified that the node should be shared by the power=line or power=minor_line way? --Jeisenbe (talk) 01:45, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

See this discussion (4 years... wow). It is explicitly asked that it can be used as ways and mapers didn't use it se much nevertheless it's not a wrong usage, aren't you?
Insulators nodes or ways should always share the live line path indeed.
Insulators as ways can be useful in case of not connected lines (like in the example): if you use a node there is an indetermination about the connection of live lines (that's why connection=no is used sometimes). Fanfouer (talk) 19:00, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
