Residential

That is not a good idea, because a village contains more than residential. It contains also commercial, industrial and others. It makes sense, to use a area instead of a node, but using residential and name=<village_name> is no good idea. --MeastroGlanz (talk) 20:07, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Lots of hamlets & villages are pretty much all residential and in these cases it makes perfect sense to put landuse=residential, place=* & name on the same polygon. --Hjart (talk) 20:14, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Streets are a different landuse though. landuse=highway. As soon as you split the polygons into smaller ones to exclude the roads, you will also start noting more different landuses ;-) --Dieterdreist (talk) 14:38, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

I do know it. I've just been forgetting it a lot lately (in other wikis too). Sorry about that --Hjart (talk) 14:58, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
and again (BTW I was about to forget to sign my own modification after signing yours in your name ;-)). --Nospam2005 (talk) 19:25, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
Where? I think I didn't touch any talk pages for quite some time --Hjart (talk) 19:34, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
Talk:Proposed_features/place_areas, yes it's an old modification but recently commented. --Nospam2005 (talk) 19:39, 4 October 2019 (UTC)

aerodrome extermination

I made initial run and found 478 cases. List is at https://gist.github.com/matkoniecz/23bd62764cac4ed81984bb1f8af52dc8

Remark: the usage of highways (linear element) as boundaries (multipolygon or not) for landuse (area element) is basically discouraged. This because later shifting, nudging or reshaping the highway or area immediately results in the not often intended change of the connected area resp. highway.

F.eks.

Merkaartor.

--Mortense (talk) 16:16, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

--Mortense (talk) 15:05, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
