Google Summer of Code
Interested in participating in GSoC 2026? Please note: we have not yet started preparations for the next round of GSOC. You are welcome to look around and get familiar with potential projects. However, do not contact maintainers or past mentors directly about GSOC yet. Getting contributions into projects is a good idea but make sure you read and understand the contribution guidelines for each project before getting started. In particular, be aware that most projects don't assign tasks, so there is no point in asking to be assigned.
Google Summer of Code (https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/) is a program that matches student developers and people new to open source with open source projects. Students get a decent stipend and good experience, the project gets significant code contributions and exposure, and Google foots the bill.
