  • I approve this proposal I approve this proposal. Already used, good to get it official. In France, there also are «semi-automated defibrillators». I guess they should be tagged in the same way? JB (talk) 11:17, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

  • I oppose this proposal I oppose this proposal. I will change when you'll replace aed by its full version emergency=automated_external_defibrillator. Abbreviations are ambiguous and are even harder to understand for nnes's (non-native english speakers). See wikipedia about 'aed': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aed to understand what I mean. --Pieren (talk) 16:54, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
  • I abstain from this proposal.. It is never a good idea to use abbreviations! Please change to the full name. --Imagic (talk) 19:15, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

  • I approve this proposal I approve this proposal. AED is how these are referred to ('automated_external_defibrillator' is too unweildy for humans and too wide in the editors). For that reason I support the current tag name. See also http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/8849 Brycenesbitt (talk) 11:07, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
lol. You say it's unwieldy but at the same time, you point out a preset. With presets, we don't care if the tag is short or long--Pieren (talk) 11:34, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

  • I oppose this proposal I oppose this proposal. do not abbreviate --Dieterdreist (talk) 12:50, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
  • I oppose this proposal I oppose this proposal. emergency=defibrillator would make more sense to me (and isn't abbreviated) /al 14:23, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
  • I oppose this proposal I oppose this proposal. emergency=defibrillator please, with the AED's automated and external natures being the default assumption. If types of defibrillator need to be distinguished from one another, introduce supplementary tags for those types which are rarer as publicly accessible fixed stations. Once this proposal is changed away from emergency=aed, please change this vote to a yes. --achadwick (talk) 16:23, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
