A conference centre (convention centerAE) is a large building used to hold a convention, where individuals and groups gather to promote and share common interests. Convention centres typically offer sufficient floor area to accommodate several thousand attendees. Some large hotels include a conference centre. Conference centres are typically built around at least one room=auditorium and may also contain an amenity=concert_hall, a room=lecture_hall, a smaller community_centre=meeting_room and seminar rooms.

Distinction

The tag amenity=events_venue is similar. Very large venues which are primarily used for major trade shows are more often tagged as exhibition centres (amenity=exhibition_centre).
