A climbing crag is understood to be a grouping of distinct climbing routes that are located at most a few minutes walk from each other, usually on the same cliff face.

How to map

All routes within a climbing crag should be grouped into a site relation of type site=climbing and tagged with climbing=crag. Then crags – think sectors – are grouped together with relation climbing=area.

Alternatively, if you do not intend to map the individual routes of the crag, you can map the crag as a node.

To optionally add additional information about the crag, such as the climbing styles, see the Climbing styles, Grading, and Additional information sections in the main Climbing article.
