The tag marker=pedestal is used to map a pedestal, which is a type of marker consisting of a small concrete or plastic base supporting a plate which normally contains useful information.

The tag marker=pedestal has to be placed on each individual marker. If this is not possible or practical, you may want to refer to marker=plate which may better suit a different situation.

How to map

Use marker=pedestal on a node. Optionally specify operator=*, utility=*, colour=*, material=* and ref=*.

Depending on what's is actually written on it, you may use indication:*=* to report any related information about the designated infrastructure to avoid confusion with the marker's own properties.

However, the most common small marker posts in the UK mis-tagged as marker=pedestal even though marker=post would be more appropriate for them.
