Talk:Notes/Applications using notes

I propose to merge it with https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Notes page. What is the reason for such splitting? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 15:55, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Currently, there are 4 pages under notes:
It is better to divide the pages into specific topics. This increases the cohesion of an article. Instead of having a very long article in which people tend to ignore several sections, the main article could be focussed on explaining the value of notes, which are still frequently used incorrectly.
Finally, these applications should use the wiki template: {{ Software | viewNotes = yes | editNotes = yes }} AngocA (talk) 16:14, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Having "very long article in which people tend to ignore several sections" is better than having info hidden across several articles breaking ctrl-f and TOC and making much harder to find anything Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 11:46, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
@Mateusz: I can't say your view is wrong, but I would leave at least the table of apps separately and wouldn't place it on the parent page. --Chris2map (talk) 16:52, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
How about adding tabs? I think some people find that terrible. I don't think it's that bad. This makes it easier to switch pages. E.g. {{Tabs flexible|Notes|Notes/Advanced use|Notes/Common errors|Notes/Applications using notes|Notes/API and development}} --Chris2map (talk) 17:02, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
I like this idea, I don't know how to do it, but I second it. AngocA (talk) 14:37, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
Like I've just written on Talk:Notes/Advanced use I support merging content of that page into the parent page Notes. Rest of subpages I would leave as they are and add the tabs to all pages. I could do the tabs. Would anyone do the merger of Notes/Advanced use? --Chris2map (talk) 17:22, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
Now I've merged Notes/Advanced use with Notes and put tabs {{Tabs flexible}} on all remaining pages. --Chris2map (talk) 10:11, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
