Als tag op een ziekenhuis
emergency=yes wordt gebruikt[1] om aan te geven of een ziekenhuis beschikt over middelen om met noodgevallen om te gaan. Zie ook Emergency ward.
As an access tag
emergency=yes is used[2] to indicate that a given road is accessible to a emergency services, what may be considered as a strong hint that given road is free from physical obstacles. Note that as emergency vehicles are by definition not restricted by legal access - so for example road with highway=service + access=private may be inaccessible to emergency vehicles if there are no mapped physical obstacles.
