capacity=* has been used for occupancy:*=* Tag:telecom=distribution_point#Tagging
occupancy:*=* seems meaning how many connections are actively "occupied" and used. If service_supply=* has no other use possible, I would simply continue on it.
Furthermore, it should be prefixed power:*=* and telecom:*=* , as they apply to the power=pole and telecom=distribution_point features separately. They are namespaces that don't mix.

Hello, I agree I'm tempted to move occupancy=* to service_supply=*. I'm still investigating this option right now, with namespace point in mind.
Regarding telecom=distribution_point, capacity=* is well used and actually refers to the capacity of the box (i.e the maximum amount of subscribers lines that would fit in).
occupancy=* means how many connections are occupied. Knowing if they are used (subscribed) or not is a different matter we couldn't watch for in OSM (i.e you may see a service drop in the street with fuses removed in the subscriber's premises). Fanfouer (talk) 16:20, 21 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Are you proposing line_management=service_supply alone on man_made=manhole and man_made=pipeline ? That's not comprehensive. It should be reviewed for applicability as a whole.

No this proposal doesn't combine man_made=manhole and line_management=service_supply. The last is intended on power lines supports and power cables particular nodes on which a branch for a service lateral occurs. It is intended at the same extent as current line_management=*. That's indeed an error, thank you for noticing. Or at least an edge case I should solve. line_management=* is already applicable on pipeline's nodes, just like on underground power cable's nodes. man_made=manhole is an abstraction of underground chamber but I don't have tag for it. I think A should remain a simple line_management=* without man_made=*, would you agree? Fanfouer (talk) 10:27, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
It has been fixed by completely removing the pipeline case, waiting for a formal proposal for line_management=* for pipelines as whole Fanfouer (talk) 18:19, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
