How to contribute

Do you like to be outside?

Then find public, free and sustainable facilities and offers and add them in OpenStreetMap. Always check if they really exist by visiting them.

  • Check out the list of known facilities and offers.
  • Do research on the Internet.
  • Keep an eye out when you're on the road.

Vespucci (Android) and Go Map!! (iOS) are useful helpers on the road.

Do you like to take pictures?

Visit already registered facilities and photograph them and link the picture in OpenStreetMap. My maps support the tags mapillary, flickr, wikimedia_commons and image. See the Wiki page about Photo linking

Can you translate English into another language?

Help translate the OpenStreetMap Wiki or Apps into your languages. The Sustainable Map can be translated via Weblate (even without registration).

Do you like to write?

Complete the description of the facilities/tags in the OpenStreetMap Wiki.

Can you program?

Can I use the app source code?

Yes. The apps are licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. The code is free for use, copying and modification if you publish under the same license.

The code from the Sustainable Map can be used as a basis for your own theme map.

I cannot program, how can I create my own theme map?
