Specifies tracks within railway company operated railway yards.
This tag is used for the tracks at yard stations which are operated by the railway company itself (in difference to spur tracks).
How to map
Add the tag service=yard to a way that is also tagged with railway=*
Optionally add ref=*
Example:
railway=*service=yardrailway:track_ref=<index number of the track>
Some yards have visible index numbers/letters to allow workers to easily identify lines (some yards have dozens of parallel lines, very close together. making this indexing important)
Yard area
The area that contains the yard should be tagged with landuse=railway and railway=yard if the yard services vehicles.
