To indicate that a sports facility, such as a leisure=pitch, recreation_ground or leisure=sports_centre, is intended for more than one sport, but it is not certain what sports.

In the case of a pitch it's quite common for markings to be provided and goalposts/nets for multiple sports, in the same area. These can be called "multi-use games areas" (MUGA). The facility should have markings and equipment for these sports. If your not certain what these sports are then use the sport=multi.

If one or more sports are known then list the sports (Semi-colon value separator, involving separating the items with a semicolon e.g. sport=basketball;soccer;volleyball ). This would be preferred if you know the list of sports the facility is meant for. Where you only know a one or more of the sports but are certain that more sports are played then tag the individual known sports followed by the tag multi. This allows the documentation of the known individual sports followed by 'more sports, but unknown what they are'. For example gymnasiums are often used for many sports that can be played under a roof, so sport=gymnastics;multi may be used.

If it is unknown what sport/s are played then do not use any sport=* tag.

If the facility does not have features for a second sport that may be played socially, do not tag this second sport. Only tag things that have provision for there activity. For example don't use this tag on a rugby pitch just because people sometimes play soccer on it!
