Only in combination with office=company???
Hopefully not!
We have tags for almost anything... spreaded to many different keys... E.g.
- shop=supermarket
- amenity=school
- leisure=horse_riding
- man_made=wastewater_plant
- office=insurance
- craft=plumber
- utility=gas
But how to map a company?
man_made=works is dedicated only for production. It's a tag from the very early days of OSM and not well considerd.
Companies that do not match to anything we have yet:
- logistics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logistics
- trading/wholesale trading:
- industrial service:
- computing centre:
- refuse collection/garbage collection:
- recycling:
- municipal sevice/municipal unitlity company
- containter port: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Container_port
I think this key suggest itself to use it for non specific companies. And I can't see a link to office=company.

- According to taginfo, this key is almost always used with office=company - https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/company#combinations - and as you mentioned, there are many other, more specific tags for specific kinds of businesses and offices. This tag is used for offices, rather than industrial sites, distribution centers, etc.. --Jeisenbe (talk) 05:23, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
