Tagging

Hello, can you please check tagging scheme India_Health_Facilities_Import#Tagging_Plans ? CHC,PHC, Sub Centres are tagged as centre ? And it is widely used in India - https://taginfo.openstreetmap.in/tags/healthcare=centre#map . Seeing many are using healthcare=hospital for PHCs. - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/Zpp -- naveenpf 15:41, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Would like to get your response on issue pointed out here Tag:healthcare=centre and India/Tags/healthcare. It is not clear what addition semantic of healthcare institutions center tag brings in. India_Health_Facilities_Import#Tagging_Plans defines CHC/PHC/SC as "Category of Indian Government health facility"(which is not accurate, the health facilities are state govt controlled). The above knowledge can be easily captured by the tag combination healthcare=hospital/clinic & operator:type=government. So I assume introduction of the tag healthcare=centre was a mistake in itself. For discussion. --Arunmadhavan (talk) 02:56, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

I think C/F/PHC's can be a hospital or clinic depending on whether there is in-patient care or not. NRHM data used for import seems to be of very low quality at least in the Kerala Context.

There was no much participation on import discussions. [1] [2]. That is why all CHC/PHC/Sub-centres are tagged with Tag:healthcare=centre . I think RMSI proposed that because trailing word is a centre. CHC can be tagged as hospital. But I doubt if PHC can be tagged as clinc itself. Basic requirement of PHC is to have single medical officer. OSM definition of clinic expects much more facility. Family Health Centre is specific to Kerala (upgraded PHC, not upto the standard of CHC). Sub-centres in rural Kerala are named as Family Welfare Centre, these are also tagged as hospitals in few edits. Please correct that. Recent RHS 2019, showing new classification too- Health and Wellness Centres. RHS 2019 If there is plan to change the tagging scheme, in order make it similar across India, please discuss more with different communication channels. If possible define the tagging scheme proposed for this activity. --naveenpf 03:30, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
I would note that amenity=clinic can be used for any sort of facility where there is at least one physician available. In Indonesia I worked at a clinic where there was only 1 physician, and my home town in the USA has an amenity=clinic with only 1 physician and 2 nurses. While amenity=doctors can also be used for a practice with one or two physicians, amenity=clinic is also acceptable. --Jeisenbe (talk) 07:03, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Name tag changes

1. <Type of Hospital> <Place> or <Type of Hospital>, <Place> ; Can we agree on one sytle ?
2. Below are queries for name expansion.

Proposal: Mapping government run medical facility in Kerala (Modern Medicine).

  1. The PHC, CHC and FHC's shall be named in this format <Primary/Community/Family Health Center>, <Place Name given to it>
  2. They shall be tagged as health facility (healthcare=yes) if details are not known.
  3. Any facility with in-patient care shall be tagged with amenity=hospital healthcare=hospital
  4. PHCs in Kerala are getting upgraded as FHCs in which case they will have around 3 doctors. While OSM documentation suggest that a clinic shall have more than 10 doctors, the number is quite arbitrary. Considering PHC are general medical facility with more than one doctor, using healthcare=clinic to these would appropriate. If in doubt healthcare=yes would be sufficient.
  5. Subcenters of PHCs are linked to a main PHC or CHC. They can be tagged healthcare=yes. However, it is not clear how to name them. As they are linked to a major PHC or CHC, its name is linked with the parent PHC which has a locality in its name, then comes the locality of Sub Center. How should they be named ?

All should have tag

operator=Directorate of Health Service operator:type=government

1. Please add wikidata too. operator:wikidata=Q88162164
2. Sub-centres are called "Family Welfare Centres" in Kerala. Check the photos. Ex- https://goo.gl/maps/RYJcLarXRGUqki927, https://goo.gl/maps/pUiK3EB4RgbjBjZG9
3. Is this task planning to take up mapping of 5000+ sub-centres in Kerala ?

--naveenpf 05:15, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Sub centers are They are like extension offices or CHC/PHC/FHCs. They usually do not have doctor of Nurse. One health worker who is trained as Auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) should be available. I think healthcare=yes should be acceptable tagging for FWC. What abt the naming ? Can some one inform as to whether the palace name is that of attached PHC/FHC or place name of subcenter ?

There is a category of PHC called 24x7 PHC.

This activity is currently on hold. --Arunmadhavan (talk) 07:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello @Arunmadhavan: , All India Health Centres Directory has the names of subcentres[3]. Please filter statename=Kerala and Facility Type (column D)=sub_cen .Facility Name is in column E. 5776 entities are available. location details in this data is poor -- naveenpf 09:13, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Localization

Add the tag name:ml for localizing the names in Malayalam. ex: name:ml = കൊല്ലം ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രി
