Goal: to create detailed maps of campuses run by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.

What to map

Start by mapping core features, such as:

• Roads
  • Correct names are found in Sentralt stedsnavnregister
• Foot paths
• Buildings
  • Varmeteknisk/Kjelhuset is stil a bit uncertain
• Parks (medium and large ones, not random patches of grass)
• Parking lots (Parking webpage)
  • Gløshaugen (capacities needs validation), Dragvoll, Tyholt, Lerkendal/Valgrinda, Kalvskinnet, Øya, Ringve, Østmarka.
• Stores, coffee shops, "kantiner" (run either by SiT or others)
  • Dragvoll: SiT Kafe Dragvoll, SiT Storkiosk, Cafe-sito Dragvoll, Matbaren Dragvoll, Matbaren Idrettssenteret
  • Gløshaugen: SiT Kafe Elektro, SiT Kafe Hangaren, SiT Kafe Kjelhuset, SiT Kafe Realfag, Cafe-sito Realfag, Cafe-sito Stripa, SiT Storkiosk

Mapping conventions

Buildings

• building=yes It's a building.
• building=entrance Here's the entrance! Point where road/path/stairs meets building polygon.
• ntnu:building=yes Building is used by NTNU for education, research, lectures, exams, etc.
• ntnu:buildingid=*, eg. ntnu:buildingid=362 Official Lydia ID of building.
• operator=Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet Tag it if NTNU is operator/owner of the building.
• name=*, eg. name=Gamle kjemi Official name of building.
• addr:country=no Norway
• addr:city=Trondheim City address
• addr:street=*, eg. addr:street=Sem Sælands veg Street address (without house number).
• addr:housenumber=*, eg. addr:housenumber=5 House number.

Parking lots

• amenity=parking Area is a parking lot.
• ntnu:parking=yes Parking lot is used by NTNU.
• name=*, eg. name=P-51 Official parking lot name according to NTNU-map.
• ref=*, eg. ref=Gløs F Parking zone.
• fee=yes/no If parking with fee.
• maxstay=number + unit, eg maxstay=30 minutes If short time parking only.
• capacity:standard=number, eg. capacity:standard=25 Number of standard (non HC, non MC) lots.
• capacity:disabled=yes/number, eg. capacity:disabled=yes, or capacity:disabled=3 If HC spaces: yes/how many?
• capacity:motorbike=yes/number, eg. capacity:motorbike=5 Number of MC lots.
• capacity:electric=yes/number, eg. capacity:electric=6 Number electric car charge stations.
• capacity:service=yes/number, eg. capacity:service=6 Number lots for trucks/delivery/uniformed cars.
• access=public/destination/private Parking limitations. Use public if allowed for anybody, private if permit is required and destination if it's a guest parking where temporary permit is required.

Campus areas

• amenity=university Area is a university campus.
• name=Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet Local name of university.
• name:en=Norwegian University of Science and Technology English name.
• loc_name=NTNU <area name here>, eg. loc_name=NTNU Gløshaugen Short name + local suburb name. Don't use a dash in the name.

Large areas like Gløshaugen or Dragvoll may (in addition) be added as a node, eg. place=suburb, name=Dragvoll.

Faculty/department offices
