An advertising totem is generally a rectangular device with a width of approximately 1 meter and a height of approximately 5 to 10 meters. Generally implemented in the entrance of a place where a commercial or industrial activity takes place, to announce this activity. It is a form of advertising sign. Grounded, it can be lit or luminous and can be animated with digital prices for example for a gas station which is a very common type of advertising device (monument signs and post-and-panel signs may be classified as advertising totems when they are tall enough).

How to map

Create a node at the location of the totem. Then put the advertising=totem tag on it. You can add more details about it using these tags:

  • width=* – the width of the totem in meters
  • height=* – the total height of the totem in meters
  • est_height=* – an estimated height of the totem in meters
  • lit=* – is the totem lit (lit=yes, lit=no or lit=limited)?
