A butcher is a shop primarily selling meat or meat products. The shop may offer other farm produce/groceries or general convenience store items, but primarily sells meat.

A butcher sells meats that are "cold", prepared or unprepared, in contrast to a restaurant or a fast food restaurant that sells "hot" food. The shop may also offer halal or kosher meat.

Use of this tag for an abattoir or for a farm/livestock handling center sometimes happens, however, this is incorrect. Use industrial=slaughterhouse instead.

How to map

Set a node at the center of the shop or draw an area along its outline.
