Template:Admin_level

Are you the author of this table? If you want to change the name of the template, you don't create a new page, you should move it to a new place. If you create a derivative work you have to mention all the authors. That's what we have "History" for. What you have done is against the CC-SA license. maro21 16:57, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

the table template:admin_level is not an old table but a new one : it merges the old tables admin_level_10 and admin_level_11. Best regards. Yunan973 (talk) 17:37, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
But many authors created the table and you didn't mention them. maro21 20:55, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
The list of authors is still visible on the deprecated template pages : https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Admin_level_10 and https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Admin_level_11. On the Template:Admin_level, there is a comment to explain that.
With your last changes, your page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Pl:Tag:boundary%3Dadministrative doesnt work anymore because links to old templates are "dead" (and you lose the tool). Yunan973 (talk) 20:42, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

keylink and valuelink

The templates {{Keylink}} and {{Valuelink}} were created because some pages such as Da:Map Features were slow to render and could completely choke Mediawiki. Going back to the old markup risks reintroducing the problems. Andrew (talk) 20:30, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

Yes, I read that. But is it better a slow page or a page with red error messages everywhere ? See for example the bottom of the page Ko:Map_Features or even on the main page Map_Features (search the chars "too many" and you will see) : I just removed keylink and valuelink templates on the "highway" table but now it appears on the next table "landuse" (not on the table historic because it is a taglist).
In fact the best solution (maybe) could be to use taglist rather than original templates ? On the ko page, original templates is used 50 times and we have red messages, on the main page, 50 times and red messages, on the french version only 19 times and no red messages. Yunan973 (talk) 21:13, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
There is a long standing bug in taglists which is that the descriptions come from long form documentation pages and not data items. This makes them uselesss in languages such as Danish where the long form pages are patchy. Andrew (talk) 07:41, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
Taglist is useful because it is a very short way to create a summary table from translated pages. If you don't have translated pages, it is truly not appropriate. So there are 2 solutions : to understand why keylink and valuelink templates don't work when use too many times (if the template LL seems work anytimes it means that keylink and valuelink templates are not made of the same wood so could be improved) or to remove all key/valuelink templates. Because the problem has been there for over a year (if I look at the the talk), it probably means that nobody knows how to solve the first solution so only the second solution remains. You seem quite knowledgeable for someone who’s been mapping for less than a month. Andrew (talk) 08:29, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
