| Tools for this tag |
The tag applies to any kind of military installation capable of withstanding an attack. Use this tag only for features that are fully operational or remain in active military use. The bunkers in defensive lines could be equipped with weapons and might have underground connections with each other. It is used as well for reinforced command posts and warehouses, as well for bunkers for civilians.
The tag bunker_type=* specifies the type of bunker.
Note that you should distinguish between tags military=bunker and building=bunker. Use building=bunker only for a building that was originally built as a military bunker. This means that building=bunker can be now used as a museum, for example. Otherwise, military=bunker can be located in a residential building.[1]
How to map
| Caution: mapping military installations is welcomed in OpenStreetMap, but may be prohibited by local law. Before mapping potentially sensitive sites such as these, please be aware of Section I b of the OSMF Terms of Use: "You are responsible for your own actions [...] OSMF generally cannot offer any protection, guarantee, immunity or indemnification." |
