translating 3D development

Hi Wlodyslaw, thanks for adding the language template at that page. Do you plan to do a translation? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 12:03, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Not a problem. But as I understand the page, this is currently a basic list. So would people benefit, if they get a translation and can they keep it up to date? IMHO this is currently a very huge problem at multilang pages :/ --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 23:41, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

languages for templates?!

Hi Wladyslaw, can you tell me why there should be translations of templates like T? I do not see that translations make sense here. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 19:27, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

I did not scrutinize the content of the template. I only standardized templates, adding missing interwiki to all of them, so that others, like the Russians or the Chinese could create their own template with a description of the template in their own language. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 20:15, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, okay, but this is really not useful. There is nothing to be translated. ;-) This template has no text. Nothing. It just displays wiki syntax. So you should revert your edit at Template:T.
And, by the way, template translations maybe should not be new templates, but being done inside the template! E.g. like here. Please reply here (not at my page). --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 20:19, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
The average mapper that uses templates have no idea what is "Template:T" and similar. So, it would be better, before you remove interwiki, add a description, in several languages, how to use this template. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 20:33, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Sure, a description is always a good idea. But this is unrelated to the language list. I will do. Oh, by the way your edit was not good in another sense: you introduced a newline on top. This leads to linebreaks whenever the template was used. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 20:36, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Oh, I see you did a mass edit. Well, you know massedits to OSM data should be discussed before. I think the same would be useful for wiki edits... :-( The same problem exists at other templates! --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 20:55, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
I like your description for "Template:T". Could you do the same for "Tt" templates? --Władysław Komorek (talk) 21:58, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. Well, there is much to do. Anywhere in the wiki. I have put it to my todo list.
See, new line problem:
 • Text blablablla foobar blablaba in the same line.
--Aseerel4c26 (talk) 20:55, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Now I have reverted your change at template:tt and the new line is gone. Do you understand the problem ( - if not, I will be glad to explain)? Did you see it? --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 22:27, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Hmmm, Template:TOC right is just one more example of a totally useless language template addition by you. Could you please revert all your additions? Thank you. This was not a good idea. Please discuss next time. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 01:35, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
I do not agree with you that my adding interwiki is useless and they are massive editing.
First, the "interwiki" is a standard format, like the "Document" and as such should be in every Wiki article. Makes it easy to categorize and create similar templates and their descriptions in other languages. (the lack of which causes that the template is useless).
Secondly, I did not do a "mass" edit but only a dozen editions to correct errors in categorization.
Currently, we have hundreds Wiki articles without documentation or interwiki, without any text, or with the German text but categorized as English, causing their uselessness. I think that they should be removed if they are not corrected for a long time.
Therefore, instead of taking subjective decisions and deny the recommended format, I suggest you take care of updating the format of the Wiki articles / templates. Best. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 08:50, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
BTW Also adding "English" interwiki, states explicitly that the template is general and not for specific language, what I noticed that some templates are for use in only one language.
I would also like to draw attention to the fact that for a long time, we have discussed many times on the incorrect categorization and the lack of relationship between similar articles / templates in different languages.

--Władysław Komorek (talk) 09:05, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, thank you for explaining, but I do not understand this. You want to place Languages (by the way, this is not called "interwiki") on every page? Could you please show me the page which "recommends" this? I think it should only be on pages which should and could be translated.
If you do not want to revert please take care of not inserting newlines. You did not reply above?!
The problem of undocumented templates is another one. This is not related to the language template. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 13:48, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Where you have been adding the Language template to other templates, please remember to wrap it in <noinclude></noinclude> tags as you have done sometimes and not others. There was a report on IRC recently about broken pages which are a result of you not doing so, and I have fixed a number of such templates since. It is unlikely that existing templates will need it adding for inclusion in all pages that use that template, though it can be useful for finding other translations of a template if you remember the noinclude tags. --EdLoach (talk) 15:25, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

I know that, but sometimes, I did not pay attention and I made a mistake. I very much appreciates if someone will correct this. My goal is to add categories to articles and templates without a category. In addition, I have added language to facilitate communication bar between similar pages. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Hi Wladyslaw Komorek, it's great if you improve the wiki, but please ensure yourself that you don't break anything. If you recognize that you made mistakes sometimes, please check your edits by yourself and correct them. This counts also for the newline problems. It's your responsibility and you cannot expect others to go behind you and check everything. Cheers, --Cantho (talk) 13:37, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Polish on the English page

Hmm - what should this be?! --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 13:50, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Sorry This is my mistake. It should be on "Pl:Elements" --Władysław Komorek (talk) 14:00, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

please... stop with your edits. You did not understand how translation in templates work. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 13:53, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

I understand very well how translation in templates work. Sorry, but it was also my small mistake. It should "pl=Główny artykuł". I have a problem with the Wiki editor, since yesterday. "Moves paragraph, bolded text". But that does not mean that adding "pl" was wrong. If, as you wrote, you know how to create templates, you should improve and do not remove all the changes. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 14:38, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Fine. But your changes are contraproductive (also see my note on WikiProject_Cleanup). I will not do anything more, I have no more time. You should not continue to change anything unless you understood what is wrong here. Yes, you mean it well, good intentions, but it is really not helping if you mess up many many pages. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 14:43, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
this way it is correct. However, it does not show Polish on Polish pages currently, since Polish pages do not have an own namespace yet (Wiki_Translation#Language_prefixes_and_namespaces) but this template relies on the namespace name to detect which language is needed. This is also mentioned on the documentation page. See Template talk:Main for how it could be improved. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 14:33, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Now you completely ruined description in Polish for "Main article". It was good so far. I give up. I do not want to participate in the editing war. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 15:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes, polish was good, but all other language pages also showed polish! Can you tell me what is "ruined" now? --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 15:17, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, your edits (I have just viewed about three) are really not useful and break a lot things. Have asked for help: Talk:WikiProject_Cleanup#messy_template_edits_related_to_translation_-_needs_reverting_or_fixing. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 13:58, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Władysław, I feel that I should try to get some tings clearer: I have no doubt that you want to improve the wiki. I am not nationalist or a proponent of German language everywhere, really not! I think there is a lot of misunderstanding involved. Until we have advanced to more understanding, I would like to ask you to edit some other wiki pages, but not to go on with your translation attempts of templates. It is not really useful, in my opinion. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 23:34, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

more crap from you --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 22:10, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Wiki syntax for categories

Which is the difference between and ? — Alexandre Magno (talk) 19:41, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Category:Pt-br:Tutorial into Category:HOWTO makes no sense. Category:Pt-br:HOWTO beside Category:HOWTO makes sense, with a language bar.
Alexandre Magno (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
But I still do not know which is the difference between and ...
Alexandre Magno (talk) 21:52, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Your answer was moved to User talk:Alexandre Magno#Wiki syntax for categories.
Thank you. — Alexandre Magno (talk) 22:15, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Categorising templates

I see you've been going through, assiduously putting templates into categories. It looks like a tiring job, but a really valuable one. Thank you. :-) Best wishes for the continued hard work.... Moresby (talk) 07:32, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

If you find any error resulting from omissions, please fix it. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 16:15, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

It would be great if someone looked at the templates and decided which ones should be deleted. delete --Władysław Komorek (talk) 11:43, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Beware line breaks at templates

See example. Perhaps be very thing and I can not fix for you. — Alexandre Magno (talk) 10:33, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. But what's wrong. Almost in all templates, the "Documentation" is in any position? --Władysław Komorek (talk) 10:39, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
There can be no line breaks between the template code and the <noinclude>, unless them are thought for the template design.
Alexandre Magno (talk) 10:49, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
Note that this is exactly one of the issues I tried to make Władysław aware of in the section above. :-( --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 22:13, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
more and more one more. Your edits broke Elements until my revert. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 02:08, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Just had a short look at similar pages: look here Sv:Elements at the fitfth and sixth heading. Do you see the problem? Please understand newlines in wikisyntax and the meaning of noinclude in templates. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 12:35, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Language in Template:Tag

Hi! You did this edit, and now all Russian pages are messed up. For example, RU:Key:water. Some tag-heavy pages (map features, how to map a) don't open at all. Why did you do this and when do you plan to fix it? I see a lot of other edits and similar questions above. Is this a part of some grand scheme to clean up this wiki? --Zverik (talk) 14:57, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

I just added the missing categories to templates without a category. Of course I could make a mistake categorizing thousands of templates. Please correct them or write to me in which templates is a mistake, and I correct it.
Also, thank to all for helping me correcting my mistakes. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 15:08, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Is this a EdLoach's fix? — Alexandre Magno (talk) 17:06, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Yes. He added missing noinclude --Władysław Komorek (talk) 17:19, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

reorganisation of this wiki's navigation

Hello, I write to you because you are part of the Wiki Team. I would like to establish a navigation concept for this wiki, lead by use cases. I wrote an example main page and an example navigation page (for the use case 'contribute map data'). In January, I wrote a correspendent proposal on Talk:Wiki_organisation, with some but not much feedback. I would be happy if you could add your feedback in order to decide either to refuse the proposal or to proceed. In the latter case I will incorporate all feedback, write the two missing navigation pages ('about' and 'use') and finally I would like to change the main page. Best wishes, --Cantho (talk) 07:28, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Now I proposed to apply the proposed changes to the main page. Your feedback/ vote is welcome. If you want to respond but don't have the time right now, please give a notice about when you think you can respond. Have a nice day --Cantho (talk) 10:19, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Talk:Tag:landuse=religious

Ja rozcinam ręcznie obecny landuse=residential i wstawiam landuse=religious wokół kościoła. Jest to przeważnie teren poświęcony i otoczony ogrodzeniem.. Pisałem o tym na http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=287604#p287604 --Władysław Komorek (talk) 12:16, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Proposed_features/Relation:person

For your information, I moved your relation proposal under the "Proposed_features" directory and open a vote (on tagging list). Because I was surprised 2 weeks ago when I saw this relation and I found the same questioning on the French mailing list. Thus a vote will get more feedbacks and see how good your idea is welcome in the community. --Pieren (talk) 10:57, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Page moves that created double redirects

Hi Władysław,

the page move of https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Pl:Przyk%C5%82ady_tagowania_dr%C3%B3g/out_of_town&action=history created a double redirect. They do not work. Please fix them. They are created every time you move a page that has redirects pointing to the old location.

Thanks. Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 12:44, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for paying attention. Fixed. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 14:30, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

item labels

Hi, i don't think its worth copying the labels from english to other languages if its the same, e.g. [1] -- it will automatically show english anyway, but makes it harder to maintain. Labels should be used for the proper translation, e.g. "Name in English" instead of "name:en". Thx! --Yurik (talk) 16:51, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

OK. Sorry. You can remove it --Władysław Komorek (talk) 16:53, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
Yes, please remove. And don't worry, we are all learning how to do this best :) Thanks for working on it!!! --Yurik (talk)

Documentation in Template:Map_Features pages

Hi Władysław, I noticed that you re-added the documentation template I had removed from the "Template:Map_Features" pages. Why did you do that? Those pages have been converted to taglist template and that documentation is no longer updated, it still describes how to use the old template. battarsa (talk) 21:41, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

Could you indicate which one? Perhaps I have made a mistake in a hurry, which I am sorry about. Please, revert it. --Władysław Komorek (talk) 21:46, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

Deletion policy

Dear Władysław Komorek,

We would like to invite you to voting in the case of the proposed Deletion policy for wiki pages and files. Based on the input of several contributors, we drafted a deletion policy over the span of two and a half months. Among other things, the policy proposes a centralised discussion page for all cases which are not mentioned explicitly.

Kind regards, EzekielT

PS: I wrote this message on your talk page, because you were involved in a long dispute about deleting in 2018 and 2019 which now led to this policy draft. — EzekielT (talk) 18:11, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Pytanie

Każda droga to wytyczona działka (obszar).
