This table is used to describe tags across different locales. It is transcluded on various localized pages (where?), and any modification to it will be reflected across all of them. Entry template documentation: Template:Generic banking card entry.

Do not remove entries because they do not apply to countries where your language is spoken. Feel free, however, to update them with more accurate, up-to-date, or locale-specific information, and to add more entries if some tags are missing from the table.

Specifying yes, while generalized, is still the most practical and useful to the consumer compared to the alternative of a mapper omitting payment information due to the inability, or impracticality of surveying every specific payment method at a location. However, in most cases, this tag should be used to specify that credit cards are not accepted.
