| Start/Finish Line | raceway=start
The point on a highway=raceway where the start or finish line is marked. If the start and finish line are at the same position, use raceway=start-finish.
| Street circuit (linear way) | Proposed: raceway=street_circuit (under discussion)
A segment of road which is occasionally closed and used as part of a street circuit. As a street circuit is temporary, highway=raceway should not be used.
| Street circuit (relation) | under discussion | A relation grouping together all the ways that comprise a street circuit, for example Circuit de Monaco | ||
| Paddock | proposed: motorsport=paddock + (optionally) amenity=parking
A paved area near the pit garages which is used for parking trailers and hospitality during an event. This tag may be used in conjunction with amenity=parking
| Pit Garage | proposed: motorsport=garage

| Pit Lane | highway=raceway + raceway=pit_lane
A section of track which is separated from the main circuit to allow vehicles to slow down and make a pit stop. Add raceway=pit_lane to the highway=raceway segments that comprise the pit lane, with name=* if applicable.
| Kerb | current: raceway=kerbproposed: motorsport=kerb
An extension of the track area, often painted, which can be found on the inside and outside of corners. They may have a different surface or profile to the circuit's area.
| Gravel Trap | proposed: motorsport=run-off + surface=gravel
An area filled with gravel intended to slow or stop vehicles that have left the circuit before they hit the barriers.
| Sand Trap | proposed: motorsport=run-off + surface=sand
An area filled with sand intended to slow or stop vehicles that have left the circuit before they hit the barriers. Can often be found at the end of drag strips.
| Grass Run-off | current: landuse=grass
proposed: |
An area covered with grass alongside the track. Grass is not intended to slow vehicles down significantly, but can penalise drivers who end up on it.
| Tyre Barrier | barrier=tyres
A crash barrier made from tyres stacked on top of each other. They may be connected or held together by rope or have plastic sheeting in front or on top.
| Marshalling Post | proposed: motorsport=marshal_post
A place where marshals are stationed during a race. They are responsible for waving flags, extinguishing fires and providing assistance in the event of an accident or breakdown. There should be some kind of permanent shelter or hut.
| Tarmac Run-off Area | proposed: motorsport=run-off + surface=asphalt
A paved area around the track at a spot that drivers are likely to go off. It allows the driver space to gain control of their vehicle before they enter a gravel trap or hit a barrier. Kerbs and grass are not part of a run-off area.

| Guardrail | barrier=guard_rail
A metal barrier at the edge of a track which can deflect vehicles, but is not good at absorbing head-on collisions. Also known as an Armco barrier. The right-hand side of the way denotes the 'front' of the barrier (facing the track).
| Grid box | (under discussion) | A marked rectangle or line where a driver must position their vehicle at the start of a race. If these change depending on the event being hosted, do not map them. | ||
| RC Car Pitch | leisure=pitch + sport=rc_car
