How to map

Set a node at the center of the feature or draw an area along its outline. Add emergency=water_tank.

Also add a general tag for the water body or storage tank as appropriate:

man_made=reservoir_covered - a covered reservoir is a large man-made tank for holding fresh water.
natural=water
- water=reservoir - an artificial lake which may be used to store water. Usually formed by a dam over a natural water course.
- water=basin - an area of land artificially graded to hold water.
- water=pond - a small body of standing water, man-made in most cases.
man_made=storage_tank + content=water - a container that holds water.

name=* - if the feature has a distinctive name - don't use a descriptive term as name.
operator=* - the name of the company, organization, person or other entity operating the feature.
capacity=* or water_tank:volume=* - to indicate the volume of water held. The default value for volume is m3 as per Map features /Units [1] but there are lots of existing entries in l (litres). It is therefore recommended to specify the unit explicitly by adding the appropriate symbol l or m3 to avoid any misunderstanding. There is another key water_volume=* being a duplicate of water_tank:volume=* and therefore not recommended to be used.
content=* - to describe the contents of a feature used to store materials.
intermittent=yes - used to indicate whether or not a waterway or water body does not permanently contain water.

access=yes/private/permissive/no - for describing the legal accessibility of a feature.
