鉄道。鉄道(Railways)は、大量輸送機関(公共交通機関)の一種です。鉄道は、金属製のレールの上を車両が走ることによって実現されます。

A wealth of information regarding railways and their prospective services can be, and has already been, mapped in OpenStreetMap

How To map

鉄道網をマッピングする為の主要なキー(key)は、railwayです。 しかしながら、多くの他のタグ(tags)が詳細を追記するために追加されています。

線路・軌道

線路にはたくさんの種類があります。現状で関連付けられているタグを以下に示します;

もし線路が異なった種類の輸送機関で共有されている場合、より大きな方でタグ付をしてください。

Current

Historical

When modeling multi-track parallel railway lines in close proximity they can either be modeled as a single way with tracks=*, or as a number of parallel ways. If individual tracks have different tagging requirements (max-speed, electrification, gauge etc) then the tracks should be modelled appropriately. The tracks=* tag should be used to record the number of tracks with a default value of 1 being assumed where this is not supplied.

線路の規格について詳細に記述するには、gauge=*を使用してください。

Track detail

As with highways, further details should be mapped where appropriate. Many of the value's associated with the keys, service=*, bridge=*, tunnel=* can also be applied to railway ways. Below is a list of the most commonly used;

Please see the main article about station tagging as it is beyond the scope of this guide.

Named railway lines

Sometimes, a long stretch of railway track (sometimes called a 'railway corridor') is known by a common name, or is given an official designation. Examples might be the 'West Coast Main Line' in the UK, or the 'Channel Tunnel'.

These should be tagged using simple name=* tags on the track ways.

Routes

In addition to correct tagging of the tracks and stations themselves, it is also be very useful to map the actual services that run upon these tracks. For this we use relations in the form of Railway Routes!

Explanation of railway=abandoned

The question is often asked, how do I tag so as to distinguish between different types of abandoned railway? For example, how do I tag an abandoned tramway? Shouldn't I tag it railway=tramway, abandoned=yes? This question reflects the mistaken belief that the railway=abandoned tag is intended to convey historical information: to describe the railway that once was there.

In fact, railway=abandoned usually describes a currently existing physical reality: the scar that is left on the land after a railway is removed. This generally consists of a series of embankments and cuts with culverts, bridge abutments, and other infrastructure still in place.

These features may be worth tagging for a number of reasons: They are often conspicuous landmarks; they help to explain the layout of surrounding streets; they are frequently converted into cycleways. Thus they have a high level of current relevance.

In short, an abandoned railway is a present physical reality. The railway it used to be (including its type) is not and consequently is not described by the railway= tag.

If you really want to describe the railway that used to be, devise a scheme for elaborating on railway=abandoned. But, use the railway= tag to describe the current status.
