Five-a-side football is an informal variant of association football played without strict rules by two teams of 5 players (four outfield players and a goalkeeper) on a smaller pitch. Other differences from football include smaller goals and a reduced game duration. Matches are played indoors, or outdoors on artificial turf or hard-surface pitches, which may be enclosed within a barrier or 'cage' to prevent the ball from leaving the playing area and keep the game constantly flowing.
Other variants can be sport=six-a-side, sport=seven-a-side or sport=eight-a-side.
The sport=five-a-side tag should only be used for features (pitches, sports hall, etc.) dedicated to five-a-side. For other variants of soccer, use:
