[W] Futnet, also known as football tennis, or soccer tennis is a sport played as singles or in teams of 2 or 3 players on a rectangular court, who try to hit the ball over the low net into the opponent's side using any part of the body except for the hands.

The standard dimensions for a futnet court are 9m x 12.8m for singles and doubles matches and 9m x 18m for triples (according to UNIF).[1] The recreational version of futnet is usually also played on a tennis court.

Note: There are similar sports played over a net using the feet:

  • sport=footvolley - A sport played by two teams of (usually) 2 players on a sand court, who try to get the ball over a high net to the opponent's side, mainly by kicking it and without using their hands.
  • sport=sepak_takraw - A sport played by two teams of 3 players on a badminton-sized hard court, who try to get the ball over the high net to the opponent's side, mainly by kicking it and without using their hands.

How to map

Since sport=futnet is a non-physical tag, it should be combined with other top-level tags; e.g.:

  • leisure=pitch - For a court - an area designed for practising sport, normally designated with appropriate dimensions and markings.
  • leisure=practice_pitch - A small place set up for practicing a given sport, but not appropriate for a full game.
  • leisure=sports_hall - A sufficiently large single room that is suitable for practising sports indoors and does not have a "centre" character.
  • leisure=sports_centre - A distinct facility where multiple sports take place within an enclosed area (multiple outdoor or/and indoor pitches or tracks).
  • leisure=stadium - A major sports facility with substantial tiered seating.
  • shop=sports - A shop selling sports equipment and clothing.
  • club=sport - A club for the purpose of playing or supporting one or more sports.

Multiple values can be used, i.e. sport=futnet;tennis;five-a-side, if the same feature is related to multiple sports.

Pitch

If there is some physical outline of the pitch or painted line markings, draw an area area around it and add leisure=pitch and sport=futnet. If a pitch has no clear landcover outline, draw a node node in its middle.
