amenity=restaurant is applied to generally formal eating places with sit-down facilities selling full meals served by waiters and often licensed (where allowed) to sell alcoholic drinks.

How to map

Set a node or draw as an area along the restaurant outline. Tag it with amenity=restaurant and name=*.

Recommended:

  • name=* – name
  • cuisine=* – type of cuisine or food
  • opening_hours=* – opening hours
  • takeaway=yes/no/only – whether the place offers takeaway
  • delivery=yes/no – whether the place offers delivery

Optional:

If applicable:

  • website=* – website
  • phone=* – phone number
  • bar=yes – the presence of a bar with alcoholic beverages
  • microbrewery=yes – a microbrewery is located in the restaurant
  • brand=* – brand
  • level=* – floor number, if the restaurant is located in a multi-story building, such as a shopping mall
  • stars=* – restaurant with Michelin star
  • opening_hours:kitchen=* – If kitchen opening hours differs from opening hours

Rare combinations:
