Fine, I'll add a very explicit warning then. Firstly, I wanted to ensure that you were aware of the issues just in case you were planning on mapping any. Second, please do change the image. SK53 (talk) 11:28, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, I like the new image. I didn't put much effort into finding the original one. I've also copied this discussion to the tag's discussion, so it will be more visible. natural=birds_nest Bkil (talk) 19:38, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Moderating Proposed features/baby changing tables

I thank you for co-moderating my proposal "Proposed features/baby changing tables", adding downstream resources and therefore directing me to points I have to take into account. This helps me a lot in my efforts to create a good proposal which reflects the interests of the majority of the tagging community. The discussion period is set to two weeks. Valor Naram (talk) 13:58, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

My pleasure. The original diaper=* was an eye sore for me too. I'm also trying to learn more about how to proceed with a successful proposal process myself, as I have a few future missions of my own. Practice makes perfect! Thank you for reminding me about the deadline. Please update the template with this information so others could be made aware of it: voteStartDate = 2019-05-04, voteEndDate = 2019-05-18. Bkil (talk) 14:29, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Although, I understand that many only fill out these fields when sending out the request for voting email, so it is up to you. Bkil (talk) 14:32, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
The period is standard, see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposal_process --Valor Naram (talk) 14:44, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Is one of your missions changing the use of the Key:amenity to e.g. different Keys such as Key:vending_machine, Key:education, Key:leisure --Valor Naram (talk) 14:58, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Well, I have a large to-do list: man_made=animal_trap, infant_bed=*, taxon=*, highchair=*, non-woody plants (smaller than scrub), recycling:waste=*, amenity=bird_bath, top_up, tourism=motel, sport=billiards, payment=*, opening_hours:kitchen=*, website=*/phone=* to contact=*, shop=agrarian/shop=trade, lunch=*, landuse=village_green replacement, amenity=reception_desk, free_refill=*/Refilling a purchased drink, highway=speed_display, ref:internal=*, refactoring multi-values to semicolons in the whole OSM and Free drinking water by private entities (it would be great if you could help with the last one, I've opened it as a favor, but seem to be stuck with it). --Bkil (talk) 18:20, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
What do you think about separating changing_table:features (along with the future changing_tables:vending/dispensing) into another proposal to make sure that we don't get negative votes on this one? I think it would be logical to combine them, but we already have 2 potentially against that, and that's a potential risk to consider. --Bkil (talk) 18:20, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
I think I can please the two ones by being diplomatic and adding a section for them later on in the wiki. --Valor Naram (talk) 18:35, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
I won't implement "changing_tables:vending/dispensing" in my current proposal nor will I create another proposal for it. Its better to make a proposal that extends Key:vending. Someone might suggest a tagging scheme for tagging a vending possibility inside a POI like Tag:amenity=restaurant + Key:vending=nappies;rash_cream;powder;wet_wipe;gloves;hand_sanitizer;pad;motrin;tylenol;....

Welcome to the Bicycle shed :-) Bkil (talk) 07:39, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Re: "changing_table:vending/dispensing" won't be implemented in this proposal in order to make it not to complicated' -> Surely we can extend vending=* with new values, that's something I already had in mind. Note that we don't need to "implement" or vote on anything extra related to changing_table:vending=*, because namespacing (using qualifiers) is a well known and allowed method of tag synthesis. This means that if vending=* is a well known tag describing a property, and changing_table=* is a physical object, changing_table:vending=* should be understood to be a property of the object. Namespacing is usually not needed for a separate node, like in case of amenity=toilets + changing_table=yes + vending=nappies, however it is a must if it is not placed on a separate node, in case of shop=mall + changing_table=yes + changing_table:vending=nappies, because there could exist various vending machines scattered all over the place (coffee, parcel pickup, sandwich, sweets) and it can clash with the others. It carried a different semantics if we only indicated shop=mall + changing_table=yes + vending=nappies;coffee;parcel_pickup;sandwich;sweets, indicating that the mall is equipped with various vending machines offering the said services, but we don't know where they are, how they relate or in what context they are deployed. --Bkil (talk) 09:56, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Proposed_features/Free_drinking_water_by_private_entities

Of course, what can I do to help you? --Valor Naram (talk) 18:42, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

The discussion for the proposal of drinking_water=ask got mostly out of control, partly because I wanted to propose too much at once, partly because I wasn't keeping the conversation on track as best as I could. Although, I still think that if one does not read through and understand all 5 alternatives (drinking_water=customers, drinking_water=yes + bottle=*, drink:inclusive=yes/no/optional, drink_refill=*), then drinking_water=ask may seem redundant. There's a whole project for mapping this and I feel it to be useful to be able to store it in OSM. --Bkil (talk) 18:53, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm having troubles to argue against https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Polarbear_w because he's right --Valor Naram (talk) 09:07, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Let's put the other proposal about refilling a purchased drink aside for now. Polarbear_w seems to support this: "I would support however tagging the free tap-water refilling campaign as it is apparently a litter-avoiding idea and presumably ground-verifiable (by some sticker or so at the door?), and not the practice of one particular business." --Bkil (talk) 19:04, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
I think the section "Free beverages for customers" on https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Free_drinking_water_by_private_entities can be a problem when you want your proposal to be approved because it's a practise of buisnesses on how often a paid glas is refilled. --Valor Naram (talk) 14:31, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

highway=speed_display proposal

Thanks for adding article: highway=speed_display. During page creation you did set the status to "proposed" (|status=Proposed), could you please show/point me to the proposal page? Thank you--MalgiK (talk) 09:13, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Why the question, would you like to add a specific property that is not straight forward? -Bkil (talk) 11:23, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Because, if there is a proposal wiki page, then there is an option to set a link to it, by using the parameter |statuslink=* e.g. how it is done for landcover=trees / |statuslink=Proposed features/landcover. No, currently i don't want to add something(specific property), beside of adding the statuslink to the proposal, if there is a existing one.--MalgiK (talk) 11:55, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes, I know, I am an advanced OSM contributor and wiki editor who follows the tagging list as well, it was only a typo, I've also changed it at other places as well. -Bkil (talk) 12:25, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks a lot .--MalgiK (talk) 13:15, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
I asked whether you needed assistance or if you wanted to add something. I would leave such tedious checking to automation, though. -Bkil (talk) 12:25, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
I have now fixed the status to defacto because now people picked it up. Back in the day I've been investigating synonyms for this object in Taginfo and this one had the most uses (few dozen perhaps), also matching the Wikipedia spelling. -Bkil (talk) 11:23, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
If there is no "official" osm-wiki proposal page then status defacto could be more suited. Thanks for updating. Btw, a overview what is the meaning in detail of the different status values, you can find on this documentation Approval_status#Status_values--MalgiK (talk) 11:55, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
