Do-It-Yourself-stores (DIY for short), or Home Improvement Center[1] are similar to hardware stores[2], except they are generally larger and stock a wider range of products. Products sold may include hand tools, power tools, garden machinery, electrical supplies, decorating products, housewares, self-assembly furniture, bathroom and kitchen furniture and fittings, garden furniture, fencing, flooring, paint, timber or other building supplies. The store may also include a garden centre offering potted plants; shrubs or small trees.Their target customers are non-professionals working on home improvements, redecorating, gardening work, etc. It is usually a big-box store with a large customer car park, which may also offer drive-in services. Some DIY stores also rents power tools, construction equipment or trailers.
