Vidoemapping

Hallo !¡!

--Slashme 15:30, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

I've pretty much added what I know already: my videocamera eats batteries too fast to make it a really good option, but it has been useful. But I like the webcams + laptop idea: I'll probably try that some time. --Slashme 19:11, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

gvSIG Mobile

Hello, why did you edit the gvSIG Mobile page in this wiki and wrote that the author of that software is Mario Carrera? What made you think that? http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/GvSIG_Mobile

Minor edits

Hi, I'm so sorry I missed your answer (again ?) on the page Talk:List of OSM based Services. Could you please uncheck in your preferences the "Mark all edits minor by default" box ? I'm using the wiki option "warn me when modification on pages of my watchlist" but I don't get your anwers, and you might think I don't care about what you say, but that isn't true ! Mitarbeiter Hr. Kluge betreut. Changes to Contact Page

While there is undoubtedly logic in the changes you have just made: you've also hugely reduced the usefulness of the one wiki page I regular use by removing the mailing lists to a separate page. Please reconsider. SK53 12:31, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

The list was just embedded using a projection and blewed up the page. I think this page is a landing page for somebody that has questions or wan't to get in touch with people. So to me it seems that he has to get a quick overview and see the priority to the communication channels. Do you think it would be better to add the list directly instead of linking to it's own mailing list page? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 15:22, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Changes to Template:User username

Hi. I think the Template:User username userbox was much better before your recent changes. The extra links are unnecessary (since they are all available on the user's page) and in my opinion make the box look cluttered and ugly. Maybe you could reconsider your changes. Thanks. Tongro 17:47, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi I changed it back. You might be right, wasn't that fine but I liked the direct links

GSOC ideas

Hello,

Choosing GSOC ideas is nice but it is not a contest of who adds as many idea as possible. In addition, projects need to clearly improve some aspects of OpenStreetMap and not work on somehow you fancy. --Melaskia 18:53, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the hints, I consulted the german community before adding. Do you mean the OSM4Games project especially? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 20:30, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I was talking in general. I really like the OSM4Games project. I am just not sure how it really enhance OSM in the end. Yeah, I agree that it is a nice visible window to what you can do with OSM but at the same time it doesn't address some of the major that I see with the project -- Melaskia 13:17, 28 March 2011

OSM4Games

Hi Matthias!

To be precise, I had the idea a little more than a year ago when I wanted to make a video game which take place in London. I wanted the city to be as real as possible. It soon turned out I couldn't map the whole thing myself and I thought I could probably automatize the process if I had the right data. I suggested the project to my school as a final project, and I will start to work on it for real in a few weeks.

I have done lots of research for the moment, but nothing concrete, it's all design and concepts for the moment. But I have a clear roadmap in mind. As for the 3D, I'm aware that it's quite complex, but I aim it to be a proof of concept in the first place. One the architecture of the software can take it into account, we'll have time to improve it ;)

Just so you know, I'm really motivated to put my idea into practice, and I will start to work on it soon, so I will have a little bit of advance that I hope to keep and complete during the GSoC :) I hope to have finished the first draft of the architecture of the map editor and a small 3D rendering as a proof of concept just before the GSoC starts. I'm leading a small team of students for my school project, and I hope we'll hit this target.

I'll be applying for the GSoC as soon as possible, Ian seemed to think that it was interesting. I really hope it will work out!

Here's my email should you want to talk about it: mathieu.triay (at) gmail (dot) com I'd be happy to do so ;)

Gemeindegrenzenimport Güstrow

Hallo Matthias,

Danke, --Cobra 09:18, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Wiki namespaces and titles

Hi. I see that you are involved in the wiki maintenance. Someone (p_verdy) is currently playing with the old namespace "FR:" and replace it by "fr:". I understood that upper case is for the country and lower case for the language. I think that most of the translated pages are country specific. All translated pages have titles starting with upper case languages. But now this person is creating links with a smaller case language which is correctly redirected but is quite annoying. What is the correct approach ? Use lower case language everywhere (in titles as well as in links) or upper case everywhere or case by case (pages writen for countries e.g. 'DE' or pages just translated for a language e.g. 'de') ? --Pieren 10:19, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Pieren, to be hornest I allways used capitalized prefixes ("DE") and never thought about doing it differently. There were never discussions on this improvement but some disagreed about his changes (Talk:Wiki, Talk:Wiki/team, User talk:Verdy p). As this is a very low level template with a lot of 'magic' I think I'm sadly unable to decide if his edits are good/bad :(
Yeah I still haven't taken the time to try to understand Template:Languages. The intricacies of these problems go over my head a little bit. Also discussions currently seem rather confused and spread out. I'd expect to find it mostly on Template talk:Languages or Talk:Wiki Translation -- Harry Wood 12:30, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Umzug von Comenius_OSM_and_Tourism nach Life_Long_Learning_Mapping_Project

Hallo Mathias,

Danke auch hier ... ;-)

Comenius OSM and Tourism Sl: Life Long Learning Mapping Project Ro: Life Long Learning Mapping Project PT: Life Long Learning Mapping Project Tr: Life Long Learning Mapping Project DE: Life Long Learning Mapping Project

hineingebastelt hatten. ;-)

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mapping_projects

--Kolossos 20:05, 2 June 2012 (BST)

Bitte um Hilfe

Hallo Mathias,

Du hast mir schon einige Male geholfen ... nun bin ich am Ende meines Lateins ...

1. "meine Rumänen" haben einige Seiten übersetzt,

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Hiking http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Lanes http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Speed_limits http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Key:leisure http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Key:tracktype http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ro:Key:amenity

Was haben "meine Rumänen" falsch gemacht?

TrackingVideo

;-) - Was wäre dabei zu beachten?

Please link images!

Hello !i!,

Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the OSM-Wiki! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how: You can pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a Road sign, you add the following code:

This will make the File show up in the categories "Road sign".

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Category:Categories.

 • was gehört ins WIKI

Was denkst du? gruß --Reneman (talk) 23:19, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 20:00, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
--!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 10:03, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 13:15, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Bogus news

Please don't add bogus items like https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Template%3ANews&diff=967581&oldid=966478 to the news page. Fortunately, it was quickly removed by another user. Although I'm not certain what I consider it, some would consider adding bogus items to the wiki front page a form of wiki vandalism. Pnorman (talk) 21:01, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm ok if the community doesn't like that content and removes the link. Indeed I'm not happy by calling that bogus, as it's intention is to help new companies to avoid mistakes. --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 22:01, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
Leaving aside the content of the link, "What a company that dives into OSM should never do: Shitstorm howto" is not news. It's a link to a page on the wiki. If it had sufficient merit to be on the front page the appropriate sections would be the topic listing (The Map, Contributing, etc), or somewhere under Portals. Considering that the content of that page appears to be a poorly-written screed laden with typos, questionable English, inconsistent formatting, poor grammar, and written by a single user, there really is no reason for it to be linked from the front page, and I question if it should even exist in its current namespace. Pnorman (talk) 23:44, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
Ok, so I moved it back to my private namespace User:!i!/What a company should never do, even I discussed it already with the german community and nobody opposed it. If you feel that the content can be improved, feel free to improve it. Also if you think that a positive motivated list would make more sense, feel free to fork it --!i! Please do not reorder voting results!

I noticed you did some reordering of other peoples votes here, please do not do it, because it makes the voting less clear: 2 user:Dieterdreist

Thanks you for your feedback. Can you please explain, how seperating the voting into 2 groups makes it less clear? IMHO this makes it easier to follow the argumentations and get a quick overview about the pros/cons? --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 11:06, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

reorganisation of this wiki's navigation

Hello, I write to you because you are part of the Wiki Team. I would like to establish a navigation concept for this wiki, lead by use cases. I wrote an example main page and an example navigation page (for the use case 'contribute map data'). In January, I wrote a correspendent proposal on Talk:Wiki_organisation, with some but not much feedback. I would be happy if you could add your feedback in order to decide either to refuse the proposal or to proceed. In the latter case I will incorporate all feedback, write the two missing navigation pages ('about' and 'use') and finally I would like to change the main page. Best wishes, --Cantho (talk) 07:15, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry but due to some private troubles I just lack of time to give you adequate feedback atm. But I like to thank you very much, as you took obviously a lot of time in developing and communicating a new concept. And yes I know, there are to much ways for contact the community ;) --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 15:09, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
Now I proposed to apply the proposed changes to the main page. Your feedback/ vote is welcome. If you want to respond but don't have the time right now, please give a notice about when you think you can respond. Have a nice day --Cantho (talk) 10:05, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
I'm verry sorry but I still lack of time, so I suggest you don't wait for my feedback but ask others of the wikiteam to find a good solution that fit's most needs. In any case, be bold :) --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 10:37, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

FOSSGIS-Seiten ins FOSSGIS-Wiki?

Hi,

--Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 14:18, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
