The taxilane is a route within airport apron areas for aircraft movement between parking positions stands, gates, hangars to the main taxiway system.

When to use

Taxilanes should only be used within apron and hangar areas within the marked Non-Movement Area boundary holding position.

How to map

Draw a way along the center line of the taxilane and add the aeroway=taxilane to it.

Useful combination

Additional information can be specified using these keys:

  • ref=* – for the name of the taxilane
  • width=* – for the width of the taxilane (in meter), note this should specify the physical width of the taxilane on the ground, not the clearance.
  • clearance=* – for the clearance of the taxilane (in meter), note this should specify the maximum wing span an aircraft can have in the given taxilane segment.
  • surface=asphalt/concrete/grass/... – physical makeup of the surface of the taxilane.
  • aeroway=holding_position – as holding positions on the taxilane.
  • crossing:aircraft=* – A point where the flow of traffic is impacted by crossing aircraft.
