Tools for this tag |
|
A painted lane on the road, usually used as part of bus priority measures to ensure that buses are not delayed by other motor traffic. This tag determines that there is a bus lane in both directions on the road.
- busway:left=lane - the bus lane is only on the left side of the road
- busway:right=lane - the bus lane is only on the right side of the road
Similar tags
- cycleway=share_busway If you are allowed or expected to cycle in the bus lane, and there is no separate cycle lane
- lanes:psv=* and lanes:bus=* which each have surpassed (17.4k~ resp. ~13.6k as of Sep. 2024) this tag. It appears to be used as an alternative, although it is not clear if it specifies on its own (without other tags in combination) whether the bus lane is on both sides or one or other side.
- psv:lanes=* and bus:lanes=* to tag the per-lane access and restrictions. This has the advantage to specify the exact position of the bus lanes (e.g. outside or inside lanes) and not whether a highway has a bus lane but is harder to use.
