Class I Railroads
These are the major owners / operators of rail in the USA (and some markets in Canada). Along with its subsidiary Kansas City Southern de Mexico SA de CV (KCSM) and a pending (2021-Q3) merger with Canadian Pacific, the KS merger, if completed, would create the first tri-national railroad in North America.

- BNSF Railway, also known as Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF)

- Kansas City Southern Railway (KS). KS is in merger with CP but is good for listing in a Class I list.
