Notes on language tags

  • Metro Manila is included both as a region and as a province, though its actual status is the former.
  • The name:tl=* tag can be used anywhere in the country as its standardized form, known as Filipino, is one of two national languages of the Philippines (the other bring English).
  • In most cases, street signs are in English unless co-signed in another language.
  • The primary applicability of language tags for Philippine languages is to guide users where to place said language tags. It does not discourage the use of said language tags outside of primary applicability areas.
