This is the list of Overlays currently available in StreetComplete. Readers are reminded, that this list is not created through the build process of the app but by Wiki contributors and thus may contain errors or may not be up to date.

General Information

For every overlay a color is used to indicate that the tagging might be incorrect or incomplete.

Street lighting

Task: Specify how ways are lit.

Surfaces

Sidewalks (Pavement)

Task: Specify whether roads have sidewalks.
Added in: v45.0

Coloring is displayed seperatly for each side of the way.

Cycleways

Task: Specify whether roads have bike lanes, shared lanes, or separate paths.

Coloring and line style are displayed seperatly for each side of the way.

Street parking

Task: Specify whether there is street parking and what kind, see Street parking
Added in: v47.0

Coloring and line style are displayed seperatly for each side of the way.
Lines are dashed, when staggered (parking:both:staggered=yes) parking is required in any form.

Color Represents
parking=lane
parking=half_on_kerb
parking=on_kerb, parking=street_side

Additionally, you can add traffic-related objects to the map as follows: traffic_calming=choker, traffic_calming=island, traffic_calming=chicane and traffic_calming=hump

Addresses

Task: Specify whether objects have address details like street names and house numbers, see addr:*=*
Added in: v48.0

Displays

Objects, that have two of those identifying tags are colored , otherwise they are uncolored.

Additionally, you can add an entrance=* node to the map.

Places

Task: Specify whether objects have shops or adding nodes for shops and shop-like places.
Added in: v48.0

Objects that are tagged with these specific values:

as well as

that might be identifyable by a name, will be shown. Points on the map do not change color when something is changed, rather the icon on the map changes accordingly and will display the name below the icon.

Other answers are the shop being vacant or no name being signed.

Additionally, you can add a node to the map and choose from a list what kind of place it is and what the given name is.

Things

Icon: StreetComplete things dot.svg
Task: Tag map features like benches, bicycle parkings, roadside trees, ATMs and other street furniture in general.
Added in: v57.0

Objects that are tagged with these specific values:

will be displayed on the map with an icon. It's not possible to change the type of an object, but other answer are the object being in a slighty wrong place or not being there at all.

Additionally, you can add a node to the map and choose from a list what kind of thing it is.

Buildings

Task: Specify the type of buildings.

Buildings and man-made objects are shown on the map and can be changed to all values that are also applicable to the "What kind of building is this?" quest. Buildings are colored according to their type.
